This will be my official first entry!!
Hopefully, you’ve read my bio page, so, you know this journey is ongoing. I never imagined myself a fitness fanatic?! But look at me now! I’m teaching 8 classes a week, am at my weight goal and finally got my BMI (body mass index) below 25. I have fought hard to get here.
I am the ultimate picky eater, so, eating nutritiously has been a struggle. Hopefully, I can give you guys tips for your picky eaters.
Lets talk burgers!!Notoriously I order my meals minus the garden! No lettuce, tomatoes, and god forbid they put any onions on it. Cause I WILL send it back. Honestly though, i could do without the enriched fatty white buns!
Here’s how I see it…meat is your protein. It helps builds muscles and fuels your body. Cheese is a wonderful source of calcium…so ADD it. You need fats to cushion your joints and bathe your cells as well as feed them. Soo…add the mayo! Ketchup tends to have a lot of sugar & salt, but it compliments the mayo. Mustard has healing properties, so add it to. If you can get the whole wheat bun, then do it. Problem is you can’t read the ingredient label in those buns, so, they could be made with enriched whole wheat flour & that defeats the whole purpose-that means they bleach the flour and then add caramel for coloring and chemicals for taste. That means you really take a chance with the bun. Best case scenario? Order it with the bun they prefer & take it off the bun or just lift the top off and eat the smaller of the two enemies.
All burgers are better with fries…but, they really aren’t very good for you unless they are baked. Opt for the veggie option or a baked potato. The potato gives you good carbs, extra potassium and taste better, filling your tummy more.

Born an eternal fat girl, I have tried every diet and exercise program known to man. I have sweated to the oldies with Richard Simmons, kicked butt with Billy Banks and even jumped on the Susan Powder bandwagon. Each time I would lose a few inches and buy a size smaller, but, I never saw the results I have achieved with Zumba.
The first class I was taken to, I went with hesitation and the thought that this was yet another silly program that would take a few pounds and inches off. I was wrong! From the minute the music started, I was hooked! I was dancing and moving and sweating, in ways I didn’t know I was capable of. Yes, like many first time Zumba class students, I fumbled and stumbled through most of the moves, but, I kept moving. I improvised. I mimicked the 30 something instructors move with the grace of an ostrich. I was tired, sore and dying of thirst. What was this Zumba? I had to have more.
So more I got. I quickly went from a 2 times a week to 4 sometimes 5 times a week and eventually started having double Zumba days. I would dance my heart out at one class and jump in my car and rush to a second class. I was having too much fun. And the results were amazing. I lost over 80 inches in the first 6 months. I was wearing a size 12 jean less than 18 months after I started this adventure.
Upon the encouragement of my instructor, I decided it was time I became certified. I had become the low impact version of every song she taught and I quickly learned all the routines. Why not share the gift that I was given? If I was losing inches and pounds, why shouldn’t I share that with everybody? Class was soo much fun, it never has, even since the beginning, felt like a workout. Yet, it was. It was a great cardio workout, and I would often refer to Zumba class as my Zumba detox. I was sweating off all the days’ ick and stress, simply by dancing! So, I jumped online and signed up for my first certification. That was just the beginning.

* Zumbatomic (Children’s version)
* Basic 2
Zumba worked for me! It works for many others. It is fun! It does NOT feel like a work-out. You don’t dread the next series; you learn the songs and the steps. You sing along, clap your hands and occasionally a whoop or a holler will escape your lips! Why because it is fun .Anybody can Zumba! My classes are meant for all fitness levels from beginner to the seasoned dancing queen. Let me share this gift with you. I promise you will have fun! That’s the key…Join the Party!
